By the time we’re twelve or so, society has convinced the vast majority of women that it is in our best interest to remain incontestably oblivious to our bodies, outside the realm of tormenting ourselves into reflecting a certain standard of physical beauty. Therefore, it is entirely reasonable that we never pause to invest in ourselves on terms that we ourselves define. Our subjugation continues because women are estranged from our actual realities.
